President William Ruto on Tuesday signed four Bills into law, introducing new legal frameworks covering population development, air passenger charges, management of public funds and trust administration.

The ceremony was attended by Deputy President Prof. Kithure Kindiki, the Speakers of the National Assembly and Senate, as well as leaders from both Houses of Parliament.

The Kenya National Council for Population and Development Act gives the council a firm legal foundation by establishing it through legislation rather than an executive order.
The Air Passenger Service Charge Amendment Act seeks to improve the administration and remittance of funds collected through the passenger service charge to the institutions and entities entitled to receive them.
Meanwhile, amendments to the Public Finance Management Act introduce a range of changes aimed at strengthening the framework governing the management and administration of public resources.
The Trust Administration Act brings together and updates laws governing trustees and the administration of trusts, providing a consolidated legal framework for the sector.
The enactment of the four laws marks another step in the Government’s ongoing legislative agenda, with the new statutes expected to guide the administration of public institutions, resources and legal processes in their respective areas.
