MERU COUNTY, IMENTI SOUTH
Deputy President Prof. Kithure Kindiki has inspected the ongoing tarmacking of the Kionyo–Kanyakine Road in South Imenti, as the Government steps up efforts to improve road connectivity and stimulate economic activity in the region.

Kindiki, accompanied by South Imenti MP Dr Shadrack Mwiti, toured the project to assess the progress of the works and received an update on its implementation.
The road is expected to provide a major boost to transport in the area by easing the movement of residents, farmers and traders while improving access to markets and essential services.

Once completed, the Kionyo–Kanyakine road is also expected to strengthen links between communities along the corridor and open up new opportunities for businesses and other economic activities.

Dr Mwiti accompanied the Deputy President during the inspection, with local leaders and residents closely following the progress of the project.
The road works come amid growing calls for improved infrastructure in rural areas, with better roads seen as critical to reducing transport costs, improving market access and accelerating local development.
