NKUBU, Meru County — Residents of Meru and the wider Mt Kenya East region are set to enjoy easier access to appellate justice following the official opening of the Court of Appeal in Nkubu by Chief Justice Martha Koome.

The new court is expected to save litigants the cost and inconvenience of travelling long distances to access appellate services, marking a major step in bringing judicial services closer to communities in the region.

Its establishment was supported by community leaders, among them South Imenti MP Dr Shadrack Mwiti, who championed efforts to secure the facility and ensure modern infrastructure was put in place.

The opening positions Nkubu as a key centre for appellate services in the region, strengthening the reach of the Judiciary beyond major urban centres.
